"It's Arma-Goddamn-Motherfuckin'-Geddon!"

Journal Entry: Sun Oct 18, 2009, 8:18 AM

"Seth Green for P.M. in 2012."

Hmmmm... what can I say about Armageddon 2009? Friendly vibe; Seth Green is a total genius of our time, but the ludicrious prices at the cafe? NO NEED!

tl;dr - The weekend of a lifetime! Mere words cannot describe its utter awesomeness.

:iconlordfax: and I arrived for the Saturday at about 7:50am. We killed time in the line by listening in on some unintentionally hilarious comments from the fangirls behind us (honestly, they had must've been there for Twilight tbqh).

Example:

- "Oh, look at that coffee machine cosplay! Huurrr, duuurrr--".

- *simultaneous facepalms from both us and the two Japanese-speaking girls in front of us* (1 of which was a Pikachu)

Throughout this eventful day, we had caught up with practically everyone from our very own BAKA group both on the train, and in the convention. All except a new member, :iconbloodirose:, who just joined our BAKA forums very recently. Both of us were intending to meet in-person for the first time at Armageddon. She indeed was there though; Fax and I must've barely missed her. Until next time!

Purchase-wise:

- Fax got a couple of swords at Global Gear (I can't remember what exactly they were for the life of me) ($20/$30), a Stargate hat ($30), and a Star Trek hat ($15)

- I got a Lisa Furukawa medium t-shirt. Simplistic, snug, and nice. Great value. ($15)

(I was heavily considering getting a few OST's/live J-Pop dvd's at the Shadow Lurker stall. If only there were some Malice Mizer or Bonnie Pink material there...)

In all honesty, there were plenty a stunning cosplays throughout! Especially from :iconkurai-kishi: and :iconp0rtalman:. My camera was a bit iffy during the entire duration of Saturday. Silly flash! 80+ photos in total. I'll see what I can salvage to post in my gallery...

Inevitably, Armageddon closed down their day session at about 6, so the BAKA group (+ friends) went out to have some Ramen noodles at Ajisen Ramen. Yum, yum! Then we walked through the city to get some über-cool gelati (on our way we got some odd stares from passer-bys. Sucks be to them!) and hung around the library for quite a bit.

The night turned into a bit of a blur as soon as Borgie, Fax and I had to hastily leave some time after. Let's just say it somewhat involved:

- a barely-missed train causing us to wait 90+ minutes for the next service.

- more odd looks from passer-bys. (Atmosphere grew real intense around Sunshine).

- a trip to Krispy Kreme.

- my spontaneous midnight snack of Hungry Jacks.

- whilst getting said meal, I was politely requested to flash my penis by a trio of tipsy girls alongside the Southern Cross parameter. "Awwwkkwwarrddd...."

- a supposed brutal bashing of some poor woman at the station directly soon after we left Southern Cross on a 25 min early bus departure. My condolences go out to her.

- another hilariously tipsy trio (guys) enjoying Beyonce - Single Ladies (Put a Ring on it) as their mobile phone ringtone on the bus. Lolworthy stuff.

- experiencing 'Sound into Colour Synesthesia' on the bus to SAWA. Feels good, man!

- dried chair-spew on the connecting Sunshine line. "Jump, Forrest!"

- coincidently catching up and having a very interesting chat with :iconginzii: on the train. It was a pleasure in getting to know you much better. It really is!

If I had to rate Armageddon 2009 overall? 9 Geppetto's out of 10. Supanova 2010 might have some real competition cut out for them.

PS: I'll need to shape up on my Tekken 6 skills as soon as I can wrap my head around Yoshimitsu's T6 moveset incarnation.

'Nuff said. I really need to sleep now. :p
